Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Canadian Choice Driving School handles personal information collected through this website. It is an operational description of what the website actually does, written from how the site is built. It is not a legal opinion, and it does not claim compliance with any particular privacy law. If you want a formal review, a qualified Canadian privacy professional should review it.

It covers this website only. It does not cover what happens during an in-car lesson, in conversations with an instructor, or in records the school keeps outside this site.

Canadian Choice Driving School is a driving school operating in Durham Region, Scarborough and North York, Ontario. You can reach us about anything in this policy using the contact details at the end of this page.

We only collect what you type into our forms. There is no account to create and nothing is required to browse the site.

When you book or enquire, the form asks for:

• your first and last name
• your email address
• your phone number
• your city or service area
• a street address, only if you give one
• anything you write in the notes or enquiry box
• how you heard about us, if you tell us

Depending on what you are booking, we may also ask for:

• which licence you hold, or which class you are testing for
• a pickup address, where the package includes pickup
• your DriveTest centre, and your test date and time
• when you are generally available for lessons

Alongside that we keep a record of the package you chose, its price, your order reference and whether it has been paid.

We never see your card number. Card details are entered on our payment provider's own secure page and are never sent to this website or stored by us.

To arrange and deliver the lessons or services you ask for: to contact you about your booking, to know where to collect you, to match you with an instructor, to take payment, and to keep a record of what was agreed. We also use it to answer enquiries, and to keep the business records a school needs to keep.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

When you submit the form, we create an order record with a reference such as CC-2026-000123 and store it so the school can act on it. We email you a copy, and we notify the school so somebody can get in touch. An enquiry — when you are not sure what you need yet — is stored the same way, so your request is not lost.

You can pay by card, by Afterpay, or by Interac e-Transfer.

Card payments are handled by Stripe, and Afterpay payments by Afterpay. In both cases you are taken to that company's own payment page, you enter your card details there, and they tell us only whether the payment succeeded. They each receive the information needed to take the payment, including your name, email address and the amount, and they handle it under their own privacy policies.

Interac e-Transfer payments are sent from your own bank to ours. We email you the instructions and the amount; the transfer itself happens between the banks and this website is not part of it. We record that the transfer arrived once the school confirms it.

We email you about your booking — a confirmation, payment instructions, or a receipt — using a third-party email delivery service. That service receives your email address and the contents of the message.

We also send the school an alert when a booking or enquiry arrives, so it is seen quickly. Those alerts can go by email and, where the school has it switched on, by SMS or WhatsApp message. An alert includes your name and phone number, so the messaging service used to deliver it receives those too.

Separately, the phone and WhatsApp buttons on this site open your own phone or WhatsApp app. Nothing is sent to us until you choose to send it, and a WhatsApp conversation you start is held in WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, including which pages they visit, which services or packages they view, and whether an enquiry or booking is completed.

The way we have set it up is deliberately limited. We do not send Google Analytics your name, email address, phone number, postal or street address, payment details, or the contents of anything you type into a form. What it receives is the page you were on, which package or service you looked at, and whether a step was completed — along with an order reference where one applies, which is a number like CC-2026-000123 and identifies an order rather than a person.

Your order page is excluded from analytics entirely, because the link to it contains a private access code.

Google processes this information on our behalf, and that processing may happen on servers outside Canada. Advertising and remarketing features are turned off, no advertising cookie is set, and we do not build advertising audiences. Google Analytics does set its own cookies to tell repeat visits apart.

Analytics information is kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically. You can block analytics entirely using your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker, and the website works normally if you do.

This site does not use cookies to advertise to you. It stores a small amount of information in your own browser so it can remember your cart, the service area you picked, and your progress through a G1 practice test. That information stays on your device.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies, as described above. Our payment providers set cookies on their own payment pages.

We do not run advertising or remarketing through this website. Google's advertising features, advertising personalisation and Google Signals are all disabled in our analytics configuration.

We use a small number of service providers to run this website. Each receives only what it needs:

• Stripe and Afterpay — to take card and instalment payments
• our database provider — to store orders and enquiries
• Netlify — to host the website and serve its pages
• Google — for website analytics, and to show our Google reviews
• an email delivery service, and where enabled SMS and WhatsApp messaging services — to send booking messages and school alerts

Some of these providers operate outside Canada, so your information may be stored or processed in another country, including the United States, and may be subject to the laws of that country.

We keep booking and enquiry records for as long as we need them to provide the service and to keep proper business and tax records, and then we delete them. Analytics information is kept for a limited period and deleted automatically. If you want to know what we hold about a particular booking, or want it deleted, contact us and we will tell you what we can do.

Pages are served over an encrypted connection. Card details never reach this website — they are entered on the payment provider's own page. Access to order records is limited to the school, and the private link to an order page contains an access code that is not guessable.

No website can promise perfect security, and we do not. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you what we know.

Many of our students are starting out and some are under the age of majority, which is normal for a driving school. We collect the same limited information either way, and a parent or guardian is welcome to make the booking and to contact us about it. If you are a parent or guardian and want to know what we hold about your child, or want it removed, contact us.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use any of the contact details below. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, and there may be records we have to keep for business or tax reasons — if so, we will say which and why.

If we change how this website handles personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The date tells you which version you are reading.
